Tablet 286

description

Inv.no.86.444.a-b. (a) 65 x 17 mm. (b) 52 x 16 mm.
The larger fragment belongs to the left-hand side of a leaf and contains the opening of a letter from Flavius Similis. The name of the addressee is lost (what appears on the photograph to be ink is in fact dirt), but it is possible that it was sent to Cerialis; see 254, probably written by a different hand, and 235. The smaller fragment appears to belong to the same tablet but does not join the larger.
