Tablet 625

description

Inv.no.93.1371. 56 x 21 mm.
Archaeological data. Location: SG/N (intervallum road). Period: ?.
The start of a letter to Cerialis, preserved in two fragments which almost certainly join. There is a further tiny scrap with traces of some three letters on one side. It is not impossible that the fragments preserve the start of the letter which partially survives as 623, but too little of the hand remains for us to be sure of this.

edition

commentary

1. The reading of the name of the sender is probable but not certain; the traces which survive of the dotted letters are all slight and indecisive.
