commentary

b.2. p and c with medial dots after are clear readings. We have not enough context and no real clue to the meaning of this abbreviation. The praefectus castrorum is a legionary officer. We wonder whether it might stand for p(raefectus) c(ohortis), normally abbreviated praef coh, but there must be other possibilities.
